Web content guidelines connections

General
The website www.cte.org.uk is a communication tool of Churches Together in England (CTE)

This web content paper is a part of the CTE Communications strategy of CTE

Aim
The aim of the CTE website is to serve the ecumenical journey of the churches in England, chiefly by illustrating its life and resourcing its needs.

‘Churches Together’ (CT) suggests we include:
  • Information about CT organisation
  • History and context of CT
  • Staff work areas of CT
  • Stories and examples of CT good practice
  • News items relating to CT
  • Resources for CT

And generally exclude:
  • Individual church info unless re CT
  • General news items unless re CT
  • Political news unless re CT
  • Fund raising info unless CT groups likely to engage
  • Advertising eg conference unless positively ecumenical
  • Personal work information except in relation to CT‘England’

‘England’ suggests we include:
  • National CT networks and member churches in England
  • Regional and Intermediate CT networks in England
  • Info re Local CT groups in England
  • Info re CT partnerships, covenants etc in England

And generally exclude information from:
  • other parts of the world except in relation to England
  • other regions and countries of the UK except in relation to England

Notes
  • The above are general not specific guidelines as exceptions arise
  • CTe-News is compiled of web articles so reflects this content policy too
  • The CTE twitter content is deliberately different to complement the general web content
  • Editorial decisions are made by the web editor in consultation with CTE colleagues
  • These notes were agreed in staff meeting and posted on the website under ‘About’
  • The web content guidelines are periodically reviewed
