L'Arche

larche 2L'Arche is an international federation of communities for people with learning disabilities and assistants. We have nine communities in England, Scotland and Wales. They provide real homes in ordinary houses to well over 100 people with learning disabilities and a similar number of assistants.

See website for further information

Will you help us in our search for Assistants to live and work in L'Arche Communities, sharing life with adults with learning disabilities?

Our communities are enriched by individuals who work as Assistants and they in turn are challenged and changed by their experience.

Anyone open to sharing life with people with learning disabilities could be an Assistant: the role is particularly suited to anyone interested in living in community or anyone looking for a faith based way of living.
It is an opportunity for students and other young people to take a stimulating and challenging  year off. For more mature people looking for a different direction, L'Arche has often proved an ideal place. Faith-based groups are our richest sourece of committed Assistants.

More information about the life of the communities can be found on the website (above) or email info@larche.org.uk
